Project Matthew
“I was hungry and you gave me food to eat. I was thirsty and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger and you welcomed me.”
— Matthew 25:35 (CEB)
Project Matthew was created by members of our congregation to ensure that families in need within our community can enjoy a full Thanksgiving meal. By providing essential groceries, we seek to bring warmth, hope, and nourishment to those facing hardship during the holiday season.
In the weeks leading up to Thanksgiving, our church family comes together to donate food items and financial contributions. Volunteers then assemble “meal-in-a-box” packages including a turkey.
Thanks to generous hearts and helping hands, this ministry has been a blessing to many. Project Matthew has been able to serve families since 2008.
In 2024, we provided complete Thanksgiving meals to over 104 families, along with additional non-perishable items for 40 more. In 2025, that number grew to more than ever before 130 families received full meals.
Our hope is to continue expanding this ministry so that no family in our community goes without the joy of a Thanksgiving meal shared at home with loved ones.
