My name is Chad Walker, and I'm honored to serve as Pastor here at Holy Cross ELCA. I am glad you are here on our website. Our mission statement here at Holy Cross is . . .
We are a place for ALL, no exceptions. We think the TRUTH about life may just be LOVE and LOVE may just be the WAY.
I believe this community of faith truly works to live this statement out. We live in a world filled with divisions. They may be social, political, racial, economic; we believe that LOVE connects us all. It doesn't matter who you voted for, who you love, what you look like, or what you believe; this is a place for ALL no exceptions. There is a place for you here no matter who you are, because you are loved by God, and this community we call Holy Cross is centered on that love.
When you enter our worship space, you will see a large red stained glass cross at the center. We believe it is there, at the cross, that Jesus meets us. He meets us where we are at, as imperfect as we all are. He meets us at the cross to share our life's struggles. He meets us at the cross to connect to our woundedness. He meets us at the cross to show us true love that even death could not overcome. It is this love that we here at Holy Cross celebrate. It is this love that we believe is the WAY of life that leads to true life in it's fullest.
We do not pretend to be a "perfect" church. We only seek to follow the WAY of love that connects the entire universe. I invite you to come and be a part of this community of "misfit toys." I invite you to come to know that there is a place here for you, no matter who you are. I invite you to grow in a love that truly is the way.
I see myself, not as some "spiritual expert" with all the answers, but instead a fellow traveler on this way of love. I welcome any questions you may have about what we believe and who we are here at Holy Cross. I want you to know that I am here for you.
